The EANGUS Conference is not being cancelled, and due to an outpouring of support from the State Associations, National Guard volunteers are coming to Louisiana to roll up their sleeves and contribute to the relief efforts. While there is Association business that we need to get done, much of that will take a back seat to the greater need to do what we do best, and that is perform as Citizen Soldiers and Airmen.
We are working with volunteer efforts that are already stood up by the State to maximize our support to the citizens of Louisiana. That website is www.VolunteerLouisiana.gov. We will be organizing those in attendance to do what we can, where we can.
I encourage everyone to come to this years event willing to pitch in and show what hundreds of people can do to make a difference. Be a part of history, be a part of the solution, be a part of the EANGUS family helping our fellow National Guard men and women and the citizens affected by this current weather disaster.
Parking: We will not utilize Jackson Barracks for POV parking. All parking will be at the Hilton at $10.00 per night. If you have trailers, we can possibly accommodate them another way, so let us know.
Transportation: No Shuttle Busses from the Airport to the Hotel on Friday. Take a taxi or uber and bring your receipt to the Operations Center at Conference. We will take care of you. Busses will be available on Saturday from 9am to 9pm and there will be a person at baggage claim area 7 to guide you to the shuttle pickup point, but it is the same location as before: across the street in the lower level of the parking garage.
